Location: Weedsport NYPosition: M-F / 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Job purpose The Direct Entry Pre-Apprentice Mechanic is introduced to learn basic understanding, repair, and maintenance of entry level tasks for vehicles and equipment over a six-week period. Successful candidates for this program can apply and interview for a position in the registered apprentice program and/or to open positions in the shop. Physical Requirements + Frequently exposed to fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration + Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. + Work environment can be loud. + Position is highly active, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing entire shift. + Must be able to lift/move at least 50lbs and maneuver 100lbs with tooling. + Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. + Housekeeping.
