Position Summary:
The Pre-Award Research Administrator I will support the research department by providing comprehensive administrative and technical assistance in the preparation, submission, and management of research proposals. This role ensures compliance with institutional, federal, and sponsor regulations and guidelines.
Proposal Development: Assist faculty and researchers in the development and preparation of grant proposals, including budget creation, narrative review, and ensuring all components meet sponsor requirements.Compliance: Ensure proposals comply with institutional policies, federal regulations, and sponsor guidelines. Conduct thorough reviews for accuracy and completeness.Submission: Coordinate the submission of proposals through electronic systems such as Grants.gov, NSF FastLane, and other sponsor-specific portals.Communication: Serve as a liaison between researchers, departmental staff, and external sponsors. Provide clear and timely communication regarding proposal status and requirements.Training and Support: Offer training sessions and workshops for faculty and staff on proposal preparation and submission processes. Provide ongoing support and guidance.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of proposal submissions, approvals, and related documentation. Update databases and tracking systems as needed.Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of pre-award services.Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Public Administration, or a scientific discipline).Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in research administration or a related field. Experience with grant proposal preparation and submission is preferred.Skills:Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in using electronic research administration systems.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Attention to detail and accuracy.Preferred Qualifications:
