Pre-Boarding Manager | Leadership and Learning

As the Manager of Leadership and Learning, you will oversee two primary responsibilities critical to the success of our recruitment and preboarding function within the Southern Ohio and Florida regions. First, you will serve as the People Leader for the Pre-boarding team, guiding a group of Recruitment Coordinators who manage the end-to-end preboarding process. This includes handling offer letters, orientation scheduling, onboarding appointments, background checks, licensure and certification verifications, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Second, you will lead efforts in continuous improvement to enhance and optimize the preboarding experience for caregivers and candidates alike. This includes driving process improvements, writing and revising standard operating procedures, and advancing the modernization of preboarding to ensure an effective and efficient experience across the organization.
This position is Hybrid at the Administrative Campus in Beachwood, Ohio. Working on-site 2-3 days per week and remotely the remaining days.
**Day-to-Day Responsibilities:**
+ Lead and manage a team of up to 10 Recruitment Coordinators within the Southern Ohio and Florida regions to ensure the smooth execution of preboarding tasks.
+ Oversee the preboarding process, ensuring that caregivers and candidates meet all requirements, policies, and compliance standards.
+ Actively engage in process improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing the preboarding experience.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the overall candidate experience, ensuring that processes are streamlined and efficient.
+ Develop, revise, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support the preboarding process and compliance.
+ Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in managing sensitive information.
+ Manage performance, provide ongoing development opportunities for the team, and ensure that team members are meeting departmental goals.
+ Work autonomously while navigating complex, often ambiguous situations, to solve problems and make decisions within the pre-boarding space. This includes partnering with cross-functional groups like Legal, HR Services, Protective Services, Occupational Health and various internal education teams.
+ Maintain a collaborative relationship with other departments to ensure alignment and efficiency in preboarding operations.
**Core Skills and Attributes:**
+ **Experience in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS):** Preferably Workday, with proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools.
+ **Background Check Systems Knowledge:** Familiarity with background check systems is a plus.
+ **Preboarding Expertise:** A strong understanding of preboarding processes and language.
+ **Healthcare Experience:** Prior experience in healthcare or a related field is preferred.
+ **Human Resources/Recruitment Expertise:** A background in HR, recruitment, or talent development.
+ **Analytical & Critical Thinking:** Ability to evaluate situations, identify gaps, and recommend improvements or changes.
+ **Strong Communication Skills:** Proactive communicator who can work across teams and environments, fostering open, respectful, and empathetic relationships.

**Additional Responsibilities:**
+ Manages Talent Acquisition staff, ensures consistent application of policies, equitable salary administration, compliance with all government regulations and JCAHO standards and adherence to Cleveland Clinic affirmative action program.
+ Manages and acts as a resource to recruiters and team members and provides leadership, guidance and mentoring to their team. Works in collaboration with Director regarding budget review, marketing plan review, personnel management and monitoring productivity and staff development.
+ Develops and maintains an intimate understanding of ongoing patient care needs to anticipate recruiting requirements resulting in a strategic plan and approach to recruitment along with various leadership individuals. Serves as representative of the department at divisional, hospital and enterprise wide committees.
+ Collaborates with Talent Acquisition across the enterprise by facilitating teamwork, problem-solving and project management.
+ Identifies, attends and coordinates participation at college, university and off-site job fairs.
+ Represents Cleveland Clinic through speaking engagements at schools, organizations and job fairs.
+ Identifies new opportunities for collaboration within Institutes and across the enterprise.
+ Develops, implements and monitors systems necessary to integrate and align recruitment practices within the enterprise.
+ Promotes ongoing professional development of self and other team members.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Business, HR or related field required. Must have effective oral and written communication skills, analytical and project management skills.
**Certifications:**
+ None required.
**Complexity of Work:**
+ Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
+ Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
+ Must be self-directed with demonstrated ability to work independently.
+ Proficient in various computer/software programs.
**Work Experience:**
+ Five years of previous Human Resources or management experience in a department with high volume hiring and a minimum of two years recruitment experience.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
+ Ability to travel throughout the hospital system. For some roles, ability to travel to other locations, including international travel.
+ Ability to operate a computer, audio visual and other office equipment.
+ Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information, including the ability to deliver any applicable training in person and virtually.
+ In some locations, ability to move up to 25 lbs.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $40.48
Maximum hourly: $61.74
