PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Pre-Commissioning Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all pre-commissioning activities to ensure the seamless transition from construction to operational readiness. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams and external vendors, ensuring that all activities adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental practices. The Pre-Commissioning Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting Worley’s mission to deliver sustainable change by ensuring that all systems and equipment are tested, certified, and meet the required performance specifications.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement and adapt project safety management systems during the planning and execution phases of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup, addressing any specific risks.

Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance for all personnel and facilities under their control during pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Assist in developing and implementing detailed execution plans for non-energized and energized testing activities, ensuring alignment with the project’s schedule and budget.

Coordinate system and sub-system scoping, pre-commissioning procedures, and system testing, including FAT and SAT coordination.

Manage the development and approval of mechanical engineering documents related to pre-commissioning and commissioning, ensuring adherence to engineering procedures, international codes, standards, and approved practices.

Provide input into project plans and schedules, and oversee the achievement of agreed milestones, ensuring that pre-commissioning activities are integrated with overall project goals.

Monitor and report daily progress, identifying and addressing risks and concerns to ensure the timely and safe completion of work scopes.

Lead daily execution kick-off meetings and toolbox talks, fostering a culture of safety and collaboration within the team.

Collaborate with the Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) Operations team to ensure seamless integration of activities and successful project outcomes.

Experience in commissioning or maintenance roles, including experience in the completions and commissioning of complex installations.

A degree or diploma in Power Engineering or a relevant field, or a Journeyman’s Certificate with relevant experience.

Experience in commissioning coordination, with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.

Strong knowledge of computerized project completion and certification systems, and extensive experience with procedures and workflows in project execution.

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to build respect and rapport within the team and effectively communicate complex systems and procedures.

In-depth understanding of the risks and technical/commercial issues associated with the development and operation of oil and gas projects.

Proven track record of safely completing and delivering commissioning and projects, with a focus on identifying efficiencies in work scope execution and sequence.

Functional knowledge of all project discipline systems, design, and reporting processes, with the ability to liaise effectively with the completions team to ensure timely certification and handovers.

Strong software skills and a fluent understanding of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) processes and Permit to Work systems.

A strong character with the ability to gain respect among the workforce and build the relationships necessary for a high-performance team.
