What You Can Expect
ENGIE Distributed Solar and Storage(DSS) is looking for a Project Manager to join our Pre-Construction team. As a Pre-Construction Project Manager, you will work closely with DSS project development, origination, business development, engineering, procurement and delivery teams to advance distributed generation (DG) and/or battery energy storage system (BESS) projects through the development cycle and prepare for handoff to the Delivery Team.
As the Project Manager, you at all times adhere to and promote ENGIE’s health and safety requirements and culture. The projects will be in different regions of the contiguous United States.
You will review the available information for early-stage projects / prospects and support the Development, Origination and Business Development Teams from constructability review, preliminary budget and scheduling perspectives. You are expected to work with internal and external engineering teams and have a good grasp of technical aspects of Solar and BESS projects. You will work with E’s procurement team to issue purchase requisitions and negotiate with contractors.
Manage and/or collaborate on numerous DG or BESS projects simultaneously through various stages of development to notice to proceed to the Delivery group Work with internal or external engineering / design team to understand and review the project design and provide inputs on constructability and potential cost savings Support proposal preparation, including due diligence site visit, project risk register, preliminary budget, scheduling, constructability review Audit ENGIE employees and contractors to ensure all parties adhere to the company’s Health and Safety oriented guidelines on active sites Create project schedule baselines and reports on progress to various internal and external stakeholders Coordinate preconstruction site visit and site surveys, as required. Track and analyze progress on project-level spend in relation to approved budget baselines Prepare budgets for projects at approval milestones and cite any budget-relates issues and evaluate ways to ensure budget baselines are accurate Ensures contractual deadlines are met and required documentation is filed Provide regular status reports to clients and other external parties as necessary, including previously-mentioned schedule and budget/cost updates Ensure that all installations meet ENGIE plans and specifications, permitting and interconnection requirements, and client expectations Ensure all projects adhere to requirements listed in applicable legal agreements Works with engineering and development teams to obtain construction-related permits, negotiate and comply with interconnection agreements, and deliver construction and staging drawings, as require. Works with internal and external Procurement resources to contract the entire Scope of the project across various suppliers (GC selection, PO issuance and follow-ups) Mentor junior team members Carry out other duties, as assigned
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in which you completed course in Construction Management, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or related field Experience within the renewable energy industry; specifically, solar photovoltaic arrays and/or battery energy storage systems A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Independent Power Producer (IPP) firms, DG Development, Project Management, Engineering or Construction roles Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency with or familiarity with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Power BI, Procore, RSMeans, Kevala, ArcGIS, Anderson Optimization Leadership, problem-solving skills and critical-thinking Employ time management skills Familiarity with Customer Relations Management (CRM) tools such as Salesforce Ability to lead and adapt in a demanding, ever-changing environment Ability to work with a collaborative approach to getting the work done Show a bias for action; take ownership of projects Project Management Professional certification Experience on distributed generation and storage projects is a plus OSHA, NFPA, or other prior safety training and certification First Aid, CPR, AED certification Working knowledge of the NEC code and AC/DC electrical systems design
Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy Must be available to travel domestically up to 50% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips Physically able to visit and walk renewable energy sites throughout the US for extended periods of time in hot or cold weather conditions Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive a company vehicle to site locations Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies; Could involve some lifting up to 40 lbs
Compensation
Salary Range: $86,100 – $132,020 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
