Job Summary
The Pre-Health Advisor is a Sr. Student Services Administrator who serves as a central resource for all pre-health students at Rensselaer, regardless of their major or school. The Advisor will maintain a full and current analysis of admissions requirements and trends for medical schools (MD and DO), veterinary schools, dental schools, physician assistant programs, and other allied health programs. The Advisor will advise and counsel Rensselaer undergraduate students on academic course requirements, course selection, and co-curricular activities to optimize success in preparation for and admission to these programs.
The Advisor will also serve as a resource for recent alumni in the health professional school application process, current students in the RPI/AMC Physician Scientist program, and faculty and staff in other offices on campus. The Advisor will manage the Pre-Health Advisory Committee, which provides interview preparation and submits composite letters of recommendation for students applying to medical school. The Advisor will also participate in and assist in planning events and activities for prospective and admitted students.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field Two (2) or more years of experience in academic advising, student services, student affairs, career development or other related fieldRelevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Starting Salary/Rate
Expected hiring range: $60,000 - $65,000
