Job Overview:

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s free PreK program for eligible four-year-olds. Ranked #1 in the U.S., it’s a safe place where children learn how to get along with others, share, take turns, and make friends. Math, reading, and thinking skills are taught every day through fun, hands-on activities. We want change makers who never stop being curious, inventive, and open-hearted to prepare children for Kindergarten and beyond!

 

As a Lead GSRP Teacher, you’ll:

· Provide group instruction and individualized prescriptive programming for each child.

· Monitor the development of each child's skills using the COR assessment tool.

· Assist in the assessment of language development, fine motor, gross motor, cognitive development, emotional and social development.

· Maintain classroom equipment, work areas, student files/records (e.g. instructional materials, cleaning work areas/playground., etc. for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, providing reliable information and/or ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.

· Implement academic, behavior, health and nutrition plans (e.g. literacy activities, stories, songs, math/science activities, art, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with the High Scope curriculum’s established regulations and/or performance standards.

· Develop and maintain an appropriate relationship with parents and inform them of the student's progress.

· Organize and plan activities with the associate teacher. Participate in extra-curricular activities that are a part of the total educational experience for all children.

· Conduct parent conferences and in home visits per GSRP guidelines.

Qualifications:

We want an energetic and passionate GSRP Teacher who is at least 18 and has at least ONE of the following:

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or child development with specialization in preschool teachingElementary Certification with a ZA or ZS Endorsement that is currentBirth through Kindergarten CertificationPreK through 3rd grade CertificationMaster’s degree in Early Childhood EducationAbility to supply transcripts
