Position Purpose:
At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Registered Nurse RN in the Pre & Post Surgery Unit delivers patient care for same-day surgeries.
What you will do:
A fast-paced unit that prepares patients for surgery provides education and follows universal protocol. The nurse RN will also provide phase 2 assessment, teaching, and discharge instructions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. A preference is given to candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree.
Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Must hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of Pre/Post Surgery or PACU nursing experience is required. Position WILL NOT train.
BLS or CPR certification: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross will be accepted.
Certifications: ACLS certification is preferred or should be within six months of hire.
Position Highlights and Benefits:
Part-Time – 24 Hours/Week - Day Shift.
Monday thru Friday, no weekend or holiday commitment.
Hours are 5:30 am thru 6:30 pm, with 8 varying shifts.
Shift start times vary; range from 5:30 am, 8:30 am, or 9:30 am. This will depend on whether you are assigned to pre- or post-operative teams; you will be required to participate on both teams.
