Learn more about the groundbreaking products you will be working with: http://www.universal-robots.com/ Opportunity Overview Provide expert technical support to our distributors and end users Reporting directly to Application Engineering Manager in Japan, you will be responsible for supporting our distributors and end users in Japan. Your primary tasks will be to support, educate and train our customers. Technical support will be handled through either email, telephone, online meeting, or on site at our customer premises. You will be expected to travel approximately 60% of the time, with regular domestic travel and occasional international travel. Your role will also include the following tasks: + Providing technical support and consultation to end users, system integrators, and distributors, including troubleshooting to help them achieve their application objectives + Developing end users / distributors’ technical knowledge and abilities with regards to Universal Robots and applications + Participating in customer visits + Conducting proof of concept evaluation of robot applications + Creating and translating technical documentation + Preparing and participating in trade shows and seminars + Speaking at seminars and webinars + Providing UR Academy Trainings in a classroom and onsite All About You Qualifications: To gain success in the job it is important that you are outgoing, service-minded and that you can commit at different organizational levels and in different correlations. You should have experience from a support department – preferably with experience within diagnosis and debugging. The job demands that you have documented practical experience within automation – preferably with knowledge of mechanical and electronic products. Furthermore, you have experience with technical training and customer visits. To be considered for the job it is vital that you are fluent in Japanese as the role involves visiting clients to provide advice on program improvements and troubleshooting over the phone. Business-level English skills are also required for communication within the company. The ideal candidate has: + Bachelor degree or higher in Engineering/Computer Science related subject + Minimum 5 years’ experience in robotics or automation industry + Proficiency in a high level programming language such as C++/Java/Python + 3 years’ programming experience ( but please note that this is not an R&D position) + Experience in designing and integrating robotic systems, or programming robot applications + Fluency in Japanese, sufficient to provide technical support and troubleshooting over the phone + Business-level English skills + Experience in conducting seminars and trainings Job profile: The ideal candidate is expected to be: + An approachable individual who prides in providing a high standard of service and support to customers and partners + An extrovert who enjoys interaction with customers + Must possess the ability to analyze problems in a logical manner + Must possess the ability to articulate problems and present solutions in a clear and systematic manner + Must possess good communication skills, ability to transfer knowledge and have a good understanding of cross cultural differences + Must be highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects/ tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize projects and tasks + Self-starter who is resourceful and initiates work without specific instruction + Exhibits ownership over responsibilities and assigned tasks by ensuring that projects/ tasks are completed correctly and on time + Is flexible and works professionally + Is a team player and possess an understanding of how different department functions support one another + Quick learner who grasps concepts and processes quickly and intuitively #LI-EY1 Current openings may involve access to export controlled technology and may be subject to export licensing requirements prior to employment.
