Precious Metal/Money Market Supervisor

Currency and Commodity Operations provides comprehensive pre and post-settlement services, including confirmation and fails management for domestic Money Markets and globally traded Precious Metals. The Money Market desk makes up part of the Balance Sheet Management structure. Products covered by Money Market Operations support include Loans and Deposits. Additionally, HSBC is considered the market leader in precious metals with 24-hour global coverage across all precious metals products. HSBC operates one of the largest commercial metals vaulting facilities in the US. The Assistant Manager must be multifunctional, with the ability to assist in the supervision of the Precious Metals and Money Markets Operations team, while liaising with business stakeholders and monitoring the accurate and timely processing of Precious Metals and Money Market trade support functions.

As our Precious Metal/Money Market Supervisor you will:

Daily monitoring of Precious Metals and Money Market Operations team functionsAssist in the facilitation of various team tactical and strategic projects, with focus on successful and timely delivery while mitigating risk for our BusinessesExercise superior client service through daily professional phone and email communications with internal/external clients, building rapport and championing positive experiencesRepresentation on conference calls and meetings, speaking to key risks and issues to our team and as required, review and authorize the team’s settlements, confirmations, invoices, etcExercises initiative and independent judgment in resolving client issues and escalate when necessary to avoid reputational or financial losses/issuesEnsure all processing issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner and adhere to all regulatory and internal controls to minimize risk to the bankSupports IT projects and new business objectives to ensure they are implemented on schedule with no issuesAdheres strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; reports control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss eventsPerform other job-related duties as assigned by the Precious Metal/Money Market Manager and provide coverage support in their absenceUnderstand the implication of regulation, policies and controls issues relating to the team and prioritize them in a timely manner and always focus on identifying process efficiencies and control enhancements with risk reduction as key priorityDemonstrate a commercial mind-set when decision making and articulate cost benefits clearly to provide transparency regarding actual savingsEscalates to senior management (e.g. product control, compliance and/or Operations) any issues that will cause financial loss to the bank or that could affect client relationships and provide awareness of potential issues

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $91,100.00 and $136,600.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
