The Precise Systems, Inc Military Transition Internship Program (PS-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The PS-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Our Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Precise Systems, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.

About This Internship:

Precise Systems, Inc. has developed the Precise Systems – Digital Transformation Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.

Goals – Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into Precise Systems.

Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the Precise Systems mission “Delight the Customer” on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on Precise Systems leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

Outcome – Offer transitioning service members a rewarding opportunity to join the Precise Systems team.

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

Has served at least 180 days on active duty Is within 12 months of separation or retirement Will receive an honorable discharge Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

Precise Systems, Inc has a Digital Transformation internship opportunity that will give the incumbent the knowledge and experience in delivering Engineering services to our customers. Our Operation team supports all direct charge (on-site and project-based) personnel as well as supporting Federal Agency and DoD customers (e.g., COR/COTR).

This is an internship, no direct managerial responsibility. 

Job Responsibilities:

The Digital Transformation Intern will focus on digitization opportunities to help businesses overall performance. A specialist is outfitted with the education, experience, skills, and determination to help businesses take their internal processes, services, and products to the next level. The Intern can expect to work closely with operational teams to leverage data and reporting, optimize efficiency, and drive improvements using technology. The intern will develop and implement solutions to digitize services, support digital training, and drive service changes for better customer experience. Collaborating with Digital Transformation Managers, intern will implement successful digital transformation, manage dependencies, and ensure resource planning. This role will participate in engagements, managing sessions, and overseeing showcases.

The Precise Systems Digital Transformation Internship Program is comprised of 4 disciplines:

The Intern will be assigned to 1 of 4 disciplines based upon their experience

Responsibilities

Strategy

Define client’s strategy and provide recommendations on digital strategies.

Management

Project Management Manage risk, opportunities and dependencies across projects. People management Stakeholder management Change management, transformation strategies or digitization 

Technical

Strong data skills and use of Excel/Google Sheets. Experience of digital solutions Create pivot Tables 

Soft skills

Be client focused, building and maintaining effective personal and business relationships. Demonstrate a problem-solving approach to challenges. Being able to work independently and paying attention to detail.  Build a rapport with clients. 

Business Analysis

Conduct needs analysis, developing business requirements and solution design. Business analysis to identify digital opportunities. Analyze customer experiences.

Experience

Experience leading business application deployments into a business organization is essential.

 Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline or technical degree and 6 years’ experience High School or GED and 10 years’ experience 4 years’ experience managing personnel or teams of personnel Experience leading dispersed teams. Understands the analytical workflow, products, and tools. Have demonstrated experience across the community and broad customer (DoD community) base. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills Proficient with Microsoft Office software; SharePoint and other communications related software programs. Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher with a background investigation completed within the last four years. Must have the ability to obtain program access.

Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications as per DODI 1322.29 Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Physical Requirements The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
