Precision Assembler

Role Summary:
The Precision Assembler will be responsible for the preparation of rotating equipment assembly work and documentation. This position will also assemble a variety of equipment and tools and perform test requirements. Additionally, the Precision Assembler will be responsible for the disassembly, cleaning, inspecting and reassembly during any repair process. This person will have access to the most modern materials and tools at our facility to accomplish these expectations to ensure the delivery of a high-quality product to our customers.

This Flowserve shop is within the Eastman Chemical Plant site.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble parts and components according to drawings, instructions, and work orders, with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
• Conduct inspections using precision measuring tools, ensuring all parts and assemblies meet specifications.
• Operate hand tools and equipment, such as hydraulic torque wrench and fire torch, to complete assemblies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within assembly, demonstrating a results-oriented approach.
• Ensure all parts and components are clean and assembled properly, following all assembly procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal safety equipment.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in assembly or manufacturing
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer aptitude to use/learn data entry systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to read and interpret documents, including blueprints and technical drawings
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate clearly to peers, supervisors, and customers
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required (on call)
• Basic math skills, including computation of rate, ratio, and percent
• Ability to interpret and follow safety procedures and policies
• Strong team building and continuous improvement skills
• Ability to demonstrate a customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality workmanship
• Provide own toolbox and mechanic's tools


Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Workshop experience
• Knowledge of automation control and electrical component• Workshop experience
• Experience as a mechanic for rotating machines, mechanical devices or as a general mechanic
• General certificate of education or vocational training
• HS Diploma / GED and 3+ years relevant experience
