Preclinical Support Technician

Working under general supervision, the Preclinical Support Technician will be responsible for supporting the Study Core and Humanized Production teams by performing animal husbandry tasks and consistently executing procedures according to protocol and associated SOPs. The work schedule for the incumbents is established based on operational demands and may fluctuate based on the changing needs of the Preclinical Services Department.

Key Responsibilities:

Animal and Lab Care – Maintaining the operations of a mouse room. Assisting researchers by communicating any observations concerning their mice. Basic Husbandry. Information processing & general record keeping. Perform lab cleaning, sanitation, and basic upkeep.Technical Support – Perform basic animal bio-methods, including but not limited to animal restraint, caliper measurements, body weights and clinical/cage-side observations. Record data using laboratory management systems. Provide axillary support that facilitates the production of humanized mice and assist with deliveries. Provide additional operational and administrative support as necessary.Other Duties as Assigned – Additional duties will be assigned on a day to day basis and the technician is expected to follow daily schedule to prioritize and perform tasks.

The wage range is $21.04 - $28.93 per hour. Pay will be determined based upon qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GEDMinimum one (1) year of relevant experience.Demonstrate ability to seek out appropriate personnel resources to address non-routine questions.Demonstrate ability to comply with all laboratory SOP’s and policies.Accurate entry of data including lab IT systems and databases.Maintain appropriate documentation as required by protocols and SOP’s.Regular & dependable attendance to maintain work flowDemonstrated successful record keeping skillsStrong written and oral communication skills sufficient to permit clear and effective exchange of information with people representing a wide diversity of disciplines and levels of sophistication.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while consistently maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Ability to be flexible and multi-task.Ability to work with computer software and databases such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
