Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product. Responsibilities SUMMARY: Reporting to the Reliability Supervisor, the Rebuild Technician is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of the department’s electrical and mechanical equipment. ACTIVITIES: • Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. • Adheres to Quality work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality. • Always ensures regulatory compliance. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Ability to work weekends, holidays and overtime per business demands. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: • Restore critical assemblies to OEM specifications to reduce mean time to repair on critical equipment. • Partner with plant resources to perform RCA’s on repeated equipment failures. • Maintain accurate documentation of restored assemblies. • Effectively communicate relevant information to Plant Leadership, Department Leadership, and peers. • Perform both uptime and down time preventative maintenance in adherence to the master PM schedule • Utilize the CMMS (SAP) to identify and track completed jobs. • Assist Maintenance Planner in planning and scheduling of shutdown activities as assigned. • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems of all plant equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems) Demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical schematics • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems of plant and packaging/processing equipment such as wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, motors and AC/DC motor drivers and circuit boards • Perform Preventative Maintenance Work Orders • Perform Predictive Maintenance Work Orders • Assisting and completing special projects. • Maintains regular and consistent attendance. • Responsible for initiatives in the following areas: Lean Manufacturing, Cost Reduction and Mechanical Downtime reduction. • May be asked to participate in project work, as needed • Communicating all process inefficiencies, equipment malfunctions, safety concerns and GMP issues to the Production Supervisor. • General cleaning of equipment and maintaining good housekeeping throughout the department per the daily sanitation checklist. • Attend meetings and trainings as required. • Assist with training new and current employees as needed. • Assist plant maintenance team to cover absences. • Performs other tasks and assists other functional areas of the department as needed and required. • Ability to work in a self-directed team environment with minimal supervision. • Good communication skills and ability to be flexible and adapt to change. • Strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, ability to learn, verbal & numerical aptitude, good computer skills. • Ability to effectively work with others in a team environment. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: One-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. EXPERIENCE: Three years strong industrial electrical background in a manufacturing environment (food processing plant preferred. Experience in mechanical systems, welding and pneumatics helpful. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: N/A – No Licenses required
