Prep Cook - Seasonal

: As a Prep Cook at Pine Canyon, your primary role is to support kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. You will play a vital role in the culinary team by maintaining kitchen organization, following recipes, and assisting with essential food preparation tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Food Preparation: Follow recipes and guidelines for accurate and consistent food preparation. Quality Control: Monitor food freshness daily and ensure all ingredients meet quality standards. Ingredient Handling: Properly wash, peel, cut, slice, and measure ingredients as required. Equipment & Utensils: Operate kitchen tools and equipment such as mixers, slicers, grinders, and scales. Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, storing, rotating, and tracking food supplies. Food Safety Compliance: Adhere to proper food handling procedures, including wrapping, labeling, dating, and temperature monitoring. Workstation Maintenance: Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, ensuring all equipment and surfaces meet health and safety regulations. Dependability: Exhibit regular and reliable attendance while maintaining a professional demeanor. Adaptability: Perform other duties as assigned to support kitchen efficiency and team success.

Education/Experience:

One to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Frequently stands, walks, and uses hands for food preparation. Regularly reaches, talks, hears, tastes, and smells. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds up to 100 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

Regularly works in extreme heat and near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in extreme cold, wet or humid conditions, near caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is moderate.

Mandatory Certificates/Licenses:

Food Handlers Card from Coconino County

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform job duties effectively. Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen best practices.
