Job Summary:

•\tCare provided is appropriate to the age of the patients served, as defined in the scope of
service for the nurses area of practice, to include: Early Adulthood (19-45 years),
Middle Adulthood (46-60 years),Later Adulthood (Over 61 years)
•\tDemonstrates the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the
patient's needs.
•\tDemonstrates appropriate knowledge of growth and development

•\tResponds quickly and appropriately in emergency situations requiring BCLS and/or ACLS. Is effective with ACLS procedure (i.e. Bag/mask ventilation, CPR, defibrillator operation, medication administration).
•\tDocuments thoroughly and accurately pre and post-procedure information, including H&P, lab results, hemodynamic data medication administration, pain assessment, physical assessment, bed assignment information, ARU log book.
•\tDemonstrates clinical competency with blood draw, IV starts, blood glucose monitoring and quality control techniques and demonstrates clinical competency with ACT monitoring and quality control and running samples.
•\tDemonstrates clinical competency with ACT monitoring and quality control and running

•\tDemonstrates clinical competency with sheath removal and can verbally state the potential hazards associated with this procedure. Demonstrates competency using topical closure patches in conjunction with manual/ C-Clamp pressure
•\tDemonstrates clinical competency with the administration of IV moderate sedation.
•\tVerbalizes correct drug dosages, knowledge of drug interactions, contraindications, etc.,
including reversal agents
•\tIdentifies problems, initiates nursing directions, provides direct/indirect nursing
nterventions and maintains appropriate patient clinical records.
•\tNotifies physician in a timely manner of any pertinent physical/emotional findings and documents appropriately.
•\tEvaluates and documents the patients response to nursing and medical intervention in
accordance with Policy and Procedure.

This position is a day shift and rotates from 6am – 6:30pm; 7am – 7:30pm; and 8am – 8:30pm.

Job Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. One year critical care

experience. One year previous diagnostic/invasive cardiac cath lab and/or recovery

experience preferred . Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life

Support (ACLS) within six months of hire.
