FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital is our 28 bed Critical Access hospital which serves the emergency, outpatient and acute care needs of the people of Montgomery County and the surrounding area since 1950. Consistently high patient satisfaction scores for the past several years at Montgomery Memorial indicate that patients are very pleased with the care they receive at their local hospital.
Montgomery Memorial provides acute care for both medical and surgical patients, outpatient surgical services, imaging and other diagnostic services as well as an emergency department that is staffed with 24-hour in-house physician coverage.
The President of Montgomery Memorial Hospital will be responsible for working with corporate finance to manage the hospital finances and annual budget, working with corporate human resources to ensure and oversee appropriate staffing levels and retention of staff, ensuring safe and quality patient care, implementing quality improvement and being an agent of leadership and change.
ResponsibilitiesMust have extensive knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of general hospital administration, with particular reference to effective methods of planning, organizing, delegating and coordinating services, both medical and non-medical, of a hospital program. Ability to delegate authority and to plan and review the work of others in a manner conducive to quality performance and high morale required. Must lead through collaboration, engagement of the team and facilitation of FHMMH and FHC staff across all disciplines. Ability to analyze facts and exercise a marked degree of independent judgment in arriving at conclusions required. Must have ability to relate to varied constituency groups (i.e. – physicians, employees, volunteers, community, etc.). Ability to work effectively in a highly matrix system to promote standard work across the healthcare system required. Must have ability to create a culture of high reliability and safety to promote a zero harm environment, to include patients, staff, providers, and community. Ability to lead to the achievement of annual outcomes (financial, clinical, provider/staff engagement and community engagement).
QualificationsMaster’s degree in business management, health management, nursing, or related field. If degree is in nursing, must be licensed to practice in North Carolina or compact state.
Five (5) years experience in upper level healthcare management and operations required.
