Job Description:
Location: Saint Charles, Illinois
CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking Press Assistant candidates in the St. Charles, IL area.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in preparing the press for operation by inserting packing sheets on the plate cylinder to achieve the required printing height.
• Fasten reinforcing bars to offset blankets and install plates and blankets on press cylinders using hand and power tools.
• Adjust various press machine parts, including feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams.
• Remove and replace worn rollers and adjust pressure between rollers as needed.
• Clean ink and ink-distributing rollers, blankets, and ink fountains using appropriate solvents and cleaning mechanisms.
• Support the Press Operator in making necessary color or register corrections and press adjustments to ensure quality specifications are met prior to production runs.
Desired Background/Skills:
• Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully
• Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product
• Ability to use micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly
• Ability tomake adjustments to feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast, front and side guides and the timing of the head stops)
• Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment under guidance of senior level Press Operators
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Requires minimum 2 years general knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials

6p-6a (3 Day Shifts) Wed-Fri / Thurs-Sat (1 Opening)
Pay $20.20-23.20/hr
