Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator with experience in press brake operations for sheet metal. The position requires the ability to interpret drawings and blueprints to understand parts and their relationship to the drawings. The role involves working from 5 AM to 3:30 PM.
ResponsibilitiesReview job specifications, blueprints, and production schedules to determine required setups and adjustments.Select appropriate tooling and dies for each job based on material thickness and bend radius.Calibrate the press brake machine to ensure accurate bending angles and dimensions.Load and position metal sheets into the press brake for bending.Monitor machine operation, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently throughout the production process.Adjust machine settings as needed to accommodate different materials and specifications.Conduct first-piece inspections to verify that initial outputs meet quality standards.Regularly check dimensions and angles using precision measuring tools throughout production.Document any deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments to processes.Perform daily inspections of press brake machines to identify wear, damage, or maintenance needs.Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform minor repairs or adjustments as needed.Keep work area and machinery clean and organized to promote safety.Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns in the workplace.Participate in safety training and drills as required.Maintain accurate logs of production activities, including quantities produced, setup times, and any quality issues encountered.Record machine maintenance and repairs for tracking purposes.Communicate any production discrepancies to supervisors or team leads promptly.Work closely with engineers and quality control teams to address any design or manufacturing issues.Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and improvements.Train and mentor new operators on machine operation and safety procedures as needed.Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in press brake technology and techniques.Essential SkillsIntermediate to advanced levels of knowledge working with metalworking machinery.2 – 3 years of previous related machining experience.Ability to read and interpret instructions, specifications, and blueprints.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to perform critical welding, brazing, soldering, and cutting operations on ferrous and nonferrous metals (not required).Properly complete both vertical and horizontal welding operations for strengthening purposes (not required).Able to perform quality, critical welds and pass the critical welding tests on a continuous basis (not required).Able to MIG weld and flux core weld clean – horizontal, downhill, and overhead passes (not required).Able to use a cutting torch, plasma cutter, and electrical/power tools correctly.Must have adequate tools to complete assigned duties.Why Work Here?
