About the Role

The Press Die Setter is expected to work safely and efficiently, ensuring set-up schedule and production needs are achieved.  It is expected that there is a commitment for never ending improvements and a positive relationship to fellow Team Members and Leaders, while supporting the Magna Employee’s Charter and the policies and procedures of BGM.

Your Responsibilities Complete set-up responsibility (i.e. new die set-up information) Pre-staging of all set-up (tools, dies, chutes, clamping required, transfer fingers, grippers, Julian dates) Load coils onto mandrel and feed through straightener and into die Unload coil truck and log coils into the system / manage coil inventory Assist Team Members when coils need rebanding and taken off press Establish and maintain communication with other team members and support departments Initiate and sustain 5S opportunities Assume Press Team Leader and/or Press Operator duties when required Supply tool room with necessary dies Continually organize die and coil storage area Support and assist operations during changeovers.  Perform other duties as required

Who we are looking for

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or GED Post-secondary education preferred, or related Tool & Die Setter experience in a Stamping facility preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred Operate standard office equipment preferred Ability to set-up and efficiently operate Aida, Schuler and Danly Presses preferred Your preferred qualifications Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Certified BGM Crane Operator and Forklift Driver or the ability to successfully obtain BGM certification What we offer
