Job Description

POSITION: PRODUCTION OPERATOR (PRINTING PRESS / EXTRUDER)

Location: BARRIE, ON

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Production (Printing Press/ Extruder) Operator to join our team of skilled professionals at our Barrie, ON location.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow established safety protocols, report any H&S issues and assist in near miss or accident investigationsFollow plant rulesWear all personal safety equipment as required by companyMaintain clean and safe conditions around work areas and equipmentMust be flexible to work rotating 12-hour day and night shiftsPerform job set-ups, adjustments, startups and shutdowns in accordance with specifications and standard operating proceduresAdjust the operating speed of machinery to meet optimal targets set by the companyMonitor/ inspect/report safely, film quality, production and equipment conditionReport findings to Supervisor or Specialist and work with them to resolve any cause of defectEnsure quality of film and raw materials meet or exceed customer and company standardsParticipate in cross training on other company equipmentMust be able to work overtime as required beyond standard work hours

Qualifications:

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, in reading, writing and basic mathExperience in industrial manufacturing, construction, or similar industry preferred3 years of flexographic printing and/ or blown film multilayer extrusion experience is considered an assetBasic knowledge of water based print and/ or blown film extrusion raw materials is considered an assetMinimum 1 year of counter-balance forklift operating experience (Recommended)Manual dexterityAttention to detailFluent in verbal and written English

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a routine basisComfortable with standing for extended periods of timeMust be able to work at heights
