Responsibilities
The Pressure Vessel Designer position in Worldwide Engineering & Construction (WWE&C) provides engineering support for Eastman manufacturing facilities worldwide. Projects range from small, fast- paced production requests to large, long-range capital projects and study jobs. This person will support the Capital Program, Plant Engineering, Maintenance, Asset Integrity and Construction efforts as they pertain to vessels.

+ We will help you prepare for and pass the NBIC -National Board of Inspection Code
+ This position offers growth potential to become a backup Site Specialist or Specialist after obtaining PE licensure and NBIC Commission, as well as to be known as an expert in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and advanced analysis techniques.
Role Responsibilities:
+ Partner closely with process engineering, plant engineering, maintenance, fabrication shops, vessel inspectors and operations to achieve manufacturing, reliability, and maintenance objectives
+ Manage the project cycle through to completion, which includes investigation and/or troubleshooting, design, specification, fabrication oversight, installation, and startup support
+ Work on site with our Metallurgic team
+ Provide vessel design and project management support for manufacturing, maintenance, vessel inspection, fabrication, and capital projects
+ Provide and review vessel calculations support for project work (e.g. Compress, PVElite, AMETank, etc.)
+ Perform stress analysis through the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to determine suitability of vessels and components for service. Leverage non-destructive testing results for in-service equipment to facilitate analysis (ultrasonic testing, radiography, magnetic particle testing).
+ Perform vessel and vessel component designs, specifications, and calculations
+ Provide general vessel support through specifications, standards, installation permits, and repair/alteration documentation
+ Understand and apply vessel-related codes (ASME, TEMA, API, NBIC)
Qualifications
Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university is required.
+ Minimum 5 years industrial mechanical experience
+ Experience with Abaqus and/or Ansys
+ Expertise in writing programs (MathCAD or other)
+ Tennessee PE License preferred.
+ Familiarity with ASME Section I and VIII
+ Familiarity with Nondestructive Examination (NDE) techniques and methods
+ Familiarity with advanced piping analysis is a plus (Caesar II)
+ Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational skills, visualization and hands-on experience
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment
