**Job Title: Prevailing Wage Electrician**
**Job Description**
Electricians will be responsible for roughing in conduit and wiring new commercial buildings based on provided plans and prints. These wires are typically terminated at switches, circuit breaker panels, and relays. The role involves wiring instruments that control power, lighting, and heating units, as well as providing wiring for air conditioning and refrigeration units. Electricians will use power tools, test meters, pipe threaders, and conduit benders.
**Responsibilities**
+ Rough in conduit and wiring for new commercial buildings based on provided plans and prints.
+ Terminate wires at switches, circuit breaker panels, and relays.
+ Wire instruments that control power, lighting, and heating units in buildings.
+ Provide wiring for air conditioning and refrigeration units.
+ Utilize power tools, test meters, pipe threaders, and conduit benders.
This role offers the opportunity to work on publicly funded projects, often at prevailing wage rates. The work is local to Broome County (Binghamton) and includes a registered apprenticeship program that provides formal training and certification through NYS.
**Pay:** $71.94
**Work Environment**
The work environment consists of commercial construction sites with general contractors and other subcontractors. Various sites are located around Binghamton University.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $71.49 - $71.49
