Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Prevailing Wage Project Accountant to join our team. This role involves reviewing construction contract requirements, auditing payroll setup, processing weekly payroll reports, and generating necessary reports to support customer billing requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll, prevailing wage, or project accounting, especially within the construction, engineering, or architecture industries.
ResponsibilitiesReview the construction contract requirements for assigned projects.Attend project kickoff meetings to ensure alignment on requirements with project team.Ensure weekly reporting is completed in a timely manner per the contract requirements.Log payment shortfalls per the contract terms.Support contractually required monitoring by third parties as required by the contract.Audit setup of LCP Tracker, including reviewing project settings and wage determination data for accuracy.Process weekly payroll reports in LCP Tracker, including loading payroll information, reviewing data for accuracy and completeness, and resolving any payment issues.Review apprentice data to ensure accurate payment and classification.Generate weekly payroll and apprentice reports out of LCP Tracker to support customer billing requirements.Answer general questions on prevailing wage or LCP Tracker.Represent the company’s best interests in working with project auditors.Assist with annual and special audits as necessary.Review team member setups and timecard reports prior to processing.Essential Skills3+ years of experience in Payroll, Prevailing Wage, or Project Accounting.Experience in the construction, engineering, or architecture industry.Proficiency with pivot tables and vlookups.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Oracle and UKG is beneficial.Familiarity with LCP Tracker for certified payroll reports (LCP can be taught).Work Environment
This role is part of a newly created team focused on prevailing wage and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The team operates three days a week in-office (Tuesday to Thursday) after an initial two-week in-office training period. The company uses Oracle and UKG systems, and this shared service location houses the majority of Accounting and Finance functions. The team is involved in multiple projects related to wind, solar, battery, and green hydrogen. The company has recently implemented Oracle Cloud and is in the process of becoming efficient with the new system.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46/hr.
