Preventative Maintenance Technician

The Preventative Maintenance Technician position is a mid-level position that is responsible for acting in a safe manner, while leading electrical projects, assisting with project management and providing technical/electrical support and repairs to the various machinery found in the production areas and the equipment that is found within the building and systems.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsible for trouble shooting all plant maintenance issues during shift, as requestProvides timely repairs, upkeep and preventative maintenanceInsures that adequate repair parts are stockedUses MRO system for removing and returning parts from inventoryMakes recommendations for equipment improvementsAssists with set-ups, start-ups, and qualificationsStrives for continuous improvement of equipmentServes as an example for housekeeping and safety standards;Insures that scheduled PMs are performed and recorded per the Service Work OrderResponsible for entering all Work Order Requests into automated tracking systemResponsible for accurate recordkeeping and reporting of Work Order Request informationResponsible for trouble shooting molding process-making adjustments to the machine, auxiliary equipment, to produce quality partsResponsible for troubleshooting machines-making sure machines are functioning properly to produce quality partsResponsible for troubleshooting auxiliary equipment-making sure all equipment is functioning properly to produce quality parts. Answer alarms on machinesResponsible for mold setup and removalResponsible for mold and machine maintenanceInteracts with Production Management, Human Resources Quality Control, Warehouse, and Tool RoomExperience in industrial maintenance with skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLCCapable of fabrication and designProficient in the use of computers, especially in a work order tracking system and an MRO systemAble to use automated scanning equipmentCan trouble shoot and correct complex mechanical machine issues problemsCan verify air pressures by gage, water temp by gate, and water pressure by gageCan detect a water leak at the molds and nozzle and react correctlyCan detect an oil leak within a processing machine (shut-off nozzles, hydraulic line, rotary seal) and prevent product contaminationCan detect an air leak and identify general location (air line, blow mold obstruction, etc)Working knowledge of material load system and troubleshooting problems with the load system;Ability to work well in a team environmentAbility to provide guidance and leadership to peers and to production personnel;3-5 years experience in a high speed assembly production environment as a maintenance mechanicMechanical aptitude-Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting and experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC’s.Forklift certification-The ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner consistent with OSHA standardsMust know and follow all GMP proceduresMust be able to work safely and follow Safety Rules and procedures.Must be able to effectively respond in an Emergency situation such as Fire, and Accident and direct the activities of others.All other duties as assigned Assist with building and programming on Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

3+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician3+ years of experience around maintenance mechanical 1+ years of experience participating in Continuous Improvement projectsMust have the ability to multi-taskMust be able to pass a background check and drug testMust be able to monitor quality of machine output Capable of lifting (up to 35 pounds)Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms Must be able to follow all department procedures and directivesMust be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner
