Prevention Education Provider - Childreach/COPE (On-Call)

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing prevention and education services in a variety of settings. May develop and implement prevention services over a varied group of topics including substance abuse, mental health, bullying, suicide and other areas as requested. 

Position Description:

Remain current on Prevention and Education standards and ensure the program provides services in accordance with those standards   Identify and assess needs of customers/clientsUtilize supportive educational methods that are appropriate to customer and topicComplete service documentation accurately and timely in electronic health record Provide both prevention and education servicesFacilitate referral to and/or provide appropriate level of careDevelop, define and implement realistic, effective and measurable goals and plans for servicesCollect, track and evaluate program data for fidelity and service qualityRecruit community groups, schools and others for prevention servicesAdhere to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules and regulationsDrive for job duties as assignedOther duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent organizational and time management skillsSkill in prevention and education techniques and interventionsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate/interact with wide variety of peopleKnowledge of code of ethics, conflict of interest and regulatory requirementsDemonstrate professional dress, speech and behaviorDetach from client issues and view objectively as appropriate to the position

Job Requirements:

Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience as allowed/required by regulatory bodiesOhio Certified Prevention Specialist preferred

Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

Positional: Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Occasional standing and walking. Constant sitting.Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Frequent to constant reaching and handling.Sensory: Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation. Frequent to constant talking.
