Organizational Overview RiseBoro Community Partnership is a comprehensive agency that serves underserved communities in New York City. Since its inception in 1973, RiseBoro has collaborated with community leaders, government agencies, and private investors to address housing, health, and service needs. Their programs span various areas, including housing, senior services, health care, youth development, education, empowerment, community development, arts programming, skills training, homelessness prevention, and access to healthy foods. Here are some highlights: Youth Center: RiseBoro converted 30,000 square feet of vacant land into a youth center, providing local youth and their families with opportunities for skill development, mentorship, and growth. Senior Services: RiseBoro was designated the first Innovative Senior Center in Brooklyn by the NYC Department for the Aging. Their extensive programming includes health management, physical exercise, and nutritional programs, collaborating with local hospitals and universities. Affordable Housing: RiseBoro is involved in affordable housing projects, such as the Hunters Point venture, which includes 1,100 apartments and retail/community space. 80% of the units are permanently affordable or earmarked for seniors. The salary or hourly rate offer will be based on the candidate’s experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be considered. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week Pay: $21.19 - $24.19 per hour ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: + Utilize Evidence Based Practice (EBP) such as curriculum, early intervention, environmental strategies and counseling services as indicated, to youth aged 5-20 years; + Attend necessary EBP curricula training sessions in order to become proficient in facilitation with fidelity; + Monitor participant attendance to achieve a minimum of 80%; + Submit sufficient documentation in a timely manner on a monthly basis; + Refer participants for support services internally or externally for appropriate services; + Assist in outreach efforts to school administrators, teachers, and parents to provide appropriate services; + Collaborate in the supervision of after school and summer programming as specified; + Supervise after school Prevention Group Leaders as necessary to achieve prevention goals; + Participate in weekly individual and monthly group case conference sessions as scheduled; + Attend community meetings as scheduled to inform stakeholders and constituents of services; + Fulfill the designated amount of weekly counseling and EBP sessions as specified; + Responsible for the clerical organization and online reporting of EBP, counseling and positive alternative sessions; + Complete all other assignments and tasks as specified by supervision. REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: + Possession of, or ability to, obtain Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPS) Certification; + At least one year of qualifying related work experience required; + Organizational and analytical skills which are informed by the priorities of the prevention program; + Proficiency in Microsoft Office programming and internal databases monitoring progress to fulfill program goals; + Ability to organize and maintain detailed records, complete necessary paperwork and meet prescribed deadlines; + Capability to communicate well verbally and in writing; + Adaptability to meeting changing priorities and meeting deadlines; + Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities. + Demonstrated commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc). SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: + Bachelor's degree preferred; High School /GED Graduate required.
