Prevention Program Specialist (SAR WF)
Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the Prevention Program Specialist (SAR WF), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-9, SHARP Division located in Arlington, Virginia. A relocation incentive may be authorized IAW agency policy. Responsibilities Provide assistance to Army elements that include operational commands in the development and deployment of Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention ( SHARP) prevention initiatives. Provide technical advice, guidance, and direction to garrisons/installations in the implementation of policy, goals, plans, and objectives. Identify existing or potential problem areas and recommends necessary corrective action or preventive measures. Interpret broad policy and program directives to make recommendations of time phasing of planning actions along with resource management actions. Develop education/training and prevention practices/policies to HQDA SHARP and Army leadership. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Prevention Program Specialist (SAR WF). A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with developing policies and/or processes for Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault; utilizing a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to evaluate the effectiveness of Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) programs; and assist with overseeing activities in the applied prevention science/interactive public health system's framework. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
