Job Purpose: 

The new parts pricing process enables Caterpillar customers, through the dealer network, to purchase replacement parts for Caterpillar machines. The purpose of this role is to establish published Dealer Net prices for all newly released Caterpillar parts by gathering and analyzing part attribute data, properly classifying the information, and correctly applying the approved formula.  

  

Pricing Associates are challenged to identify problems quickly and accurately following standard processes and consulting the responsible pricing analyst. The New Parts Pricing function impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Process Quality, etc. 

  

 

Job Responsibilities: 

Research corporate and Pricing systems, tools, and applications to gather and analyze data needed to classify and price parts.  

Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, and when needed, obtains data not shown on prints or costs not in corporate systems by contacting the appropriate Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounting, Purchasing, and Logistics personnel 

Analyze and draw data insights to properly assign Parts Product Classification (PPC) 

Calculate and enter pricing data into the Pricing system based on completed analysis.  

Work incoming requests in a prioritized manner.  High priority requests must immediately be established to enable a part to be invoiced and shipped from parts distribution facilities 

Participates in onboarding and training of new team members 

Actively participates as a team member on projects in support of Global Parts Pricing initiatives.  

 

Job Requirements: 

Interpret blueprints or have the ability to learn on the job 

Possess technical knowledge and strong analytical skills 

Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word 

Develop additional skills (i.e. Run Snowflake queries) to extract and analyze pertinent pricing data. 

Promote a professional working environment through collaborative interactions with coworkers, support partners and dealers 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

Associates or Bachelors degree preferred 

Equivalent job-related experience accepted 

Previous parts or pricing experience
