The Opportunity:
The Pricing Specialist is responsible for providing strategic pricing guidance and managing the pricing process for new and existing customers and products. This includes developing new and revised item estimates, managing the quoting process, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize profitability by developing strategic pricing.
This position is located onsite in Norcross, GA.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Set up new items in the order entry system when onboarding new business and customersReview prior day Booking Report for pricing expectation to ensure there are no price exceptions for each booked item and alert Customer Service for correctionsMaintain accuracy of estimating and quoting process across multiple plantsReview pricing proposal for accuracy and confirm customer specifications for productionCreate new item standard cost estimates and update any required re-pricing of current items due to changes from original specifications or requirementsManage and process all customer requests for quotations (RFQs)Maintain RFQ process documentation to support pricing approximations for customer requestsAssess and identify internal suppliers to produce customer products when customer specifications are outside the capacity of the assigned PlantUpdate data and documentation in the Local Business Operating System on “won” items or changes to existing itemsStrive to thoroughly understand all manufacturing processes, equipment and equipment limitations.Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to identify ways to improve marginWork collaboratively with Customer Service to ensure pricing on customer orders are up to date and appropriately priced to increase margin.Work collaboratively with the Plant production teams to ensure machine capability to fulfill customer ordersDemonstrates a general understanding of various sources of information or data that are relevant to the business; summarizes or integrates information for routine problems or issues with oversight from others as necessaryClearly exchanges thoughts, ideas, and messages through written, verbal, and non-verbal methods that promote an understanding with the target audience; listens carefully and attentivelyPlans, arranges and/or monitor's work to ensure achievement of desired results; establishes a systematic course of action to accomplish objectivesPlans, prioritizes, and manages time spent on accomplishing tasks to increase productivity and efficiency; demonstrates awareness and control over amount of time spent on activities; meets deadlinesDemonstrates an interest, willingness and drive to learn new things; seeks to understand concepts, processes, and ideas within area of functional expertise; naturally inquisitive; sets meaningful goals for personal work productivityHas an eye for recognizing errors or differences; plans and completes work with thoroughness, giving attention to specific information and individual details, conditions necessary record keeping, and elements of that workPlans and decides on the course of action while allowing for flexibility to support ad-hoc scenarios; demonstrates ability to balance competing priorities
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance/Economics/Industrial Engineering or math-related disciplineMinimum of 1 year of experience in paper manufacturing or related manufacturing industry – Required.Excellent communication and listening skills.Proven track record of effective problem-solving
