North Memorial Health Clinic – Blaine is seeking an experienced and dynamic physician or advanced practice provider (APP) leader to join our team. This is a blended clinical and administrative position with 0.30 FTE dedicated to the provider lead component and the remainder of the FTE dedicated to a clinical component. We are open to well qualified primary care providers with training in family medicine, internal medicine or pediatrics (physician or advanced practice provider).

Position Purpose

The Primary Care Provider Lead assists the medical director in providing direction and administrative leadership to a segment/area of the medical practice/service, e.g., a group of Primary Care Clinic sites in a dyadic partnership with the regional Clinic Manager.

The Provider Lead is responsible for building and promoting a culture conducive to provider and team member satisfaction in an environment that is respectful of a diverse work force. They also ensure effective and efficient delivery of high-quality care while maintaining an excellent customer experience that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Blaze Health. As part of their role, the Provider Lead will help develop and implement: new programs; clinical policies, procedures and protocols; and quality improvement processes. The Provider Lead is also responsible for the implementation and on-going adherence to the Quality Management System for their regional clinics and ensure standardization of clinical care and implementation of quality initiatives. The Provider Lead is responsible for advancing and implementing organization initiatives and strategies and participating in leadership committees. Finally, they participate in the preparation of operating and capital budgets which reflect assumptions for volume and resources and monitor financial reports on strategic planning, budget compliance, and financial control.

Position Qualifications

Licensed MD, DO or APP (Licensed) in Primary Care (Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine. Advanced training in Leadership - course work completed either through higher learning and/or professional academy.  3-5 years clinical practice with some clinical/project leadership and/or governance role, including process leadership across an enterprise or division and working with multiple stakeholders. Knowledge of hiring, performance management (behavioral and clinical), and change management preferred. Knowledge of, or experience in, the management and improvement of clinical quality preferred. Collaborating with dyad partner to manage clinical operations preferred. Working understanding of insurance reimbursement and alternative payment models preferred.
