Primary Care Registered Nurse (RN) - Thayer Internal Medicine
Job Summary: MaineGenaral Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Thayer Internal Medicine office. This role is vital in providing comprehensive patient care, chronic disease management, and clinical support in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment, triage, and patient education skills to enhance patient outcomes and care coordination.

Job Description:

The Role:  Registered Nurse (RN) – Thayer Internal Medicine

Provides direct patient care and administrative assistance in the setting of a physician practice/medical office in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Position Highlights:

This position is a 32 hour-per-week position M-FThe office is open 8 am-4:30 pmFast-paced position in a growing office with a focus on phone triageFlexible schedule

The Work:

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.Evaluate the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.Triage calls from patients/caregivers requesting assistance. Provides advice, referrals, and patient education. For symptomatic patients, determine the necessity and type of care needed and advise the caller regarding appropriate care.Performs administrative duties to coordinate patient care, including data collection, telephone triage, scheduling tests/procedures and appointments, calling in prescriptions, patient education, suture removal, blood draws, determining insurance coverage, and billing and receiving payments.

You Have:

Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion1 year of RN experience preferredPrevious practice experience, helpfulStrong assessment skills, especially over the phoneExcellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skillsProven and demonstrated critical thinking skillsAbility to react calmly, objectively, and effectively in emergencies
