Within the global procurement team, we are performing market intelligence, we are designing strategies and we are negotiating to select and propose the best suppliers for our business, to support our growth by improving our performance and adapting our material to ours brands and market’s needs, to ensure supply continuity, to improve sustainability while ensuring quality and to support innovation and time to market.
Our team is a multicultural one to be agile and able to adapt to the worldwide specificity and constraints while developing our expertise for the categories we are managing.
The Directs Procurement team closely work with our stakeholders, mainly M&S, Science Hub and Growth Hub and we are involved upfront in any kind of projects supporting Opella Growth. We are 20 team members, located all around the world to support our 13 industrial sites in Raw, Packaging, Capex and Maintenance – and we are managing 700m€ spend.

Main responsibilities:
Primary Packaging global Lead buyer will manage several subcategories of Primary Packaging Material covering 13 plants located worldwide, ensuring sourcing on global perimeter. Business Continuity, Performance, Sustainability and Risk Management are our key missions.
Build, sell to business and implement / execute competitive and innovative Procurement category strategies across the world
impacting business: e.g., value creation, performance in terms of net saving and cash and simplification
managing knowledge and packaging expertise to develop cost structure model and anticipate market trends
monitoring execution of saving/dual sourcing, opportunities, and projects
Manage suppliers’ relationships and negotiations
providing ad hoc and reliable partners list - ensuring compliance and security of supply (quality & capacity), best in class commercial value (cost and cash) and world class service
developing partnership with strategic suppliers so that Opella becomes the” customer of choice” for their innovative solutions enabling transformational value creation impacting top and bottom line and solutions that support our sustainability roadmap
identifying opportunities and solutions for “buying better and buying less/spending smart”, drawing on deep domain expertise and by working in close collaboration with the budget owners - launching tender and negotiating prices and conditions
Build, drive / execute and monitor performance agreed during financial cycles

Ensure business partnering
be the voice of Directs Procurement @ specific facility/ies, as focal point for Finance and Site Head as well as key actors
organize and activate interactions with Global Buyers to improve sites P&L
contribution to business strategic plan, budget & providing progress reporting as required
About you :
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in procurement, experience with proven track record in building and leading cross functional team. Experience in packaging purchasing would be ideal.
Soft skills: challenger mindset, effective communication skill, capacity to develop a strategy thinking while managing operational ones, capacity to resist to stress and pressure
Technical skills: Data management, cost structure management, negotiation skill/tools
Education: University degree in engineering, business school or equivalent
Languages: Fluent in English
