Visit TextronSystems\.com & Lycoming\.com to read more about who we are and the products we make\! **_About This Role_** Textron Systems is looking for a Mechanical Designer to support the Ground Robotics \(GROBO\) team within our Land Systems organization\. This position will be responsible for creating and checking technical content and data packages for various components and sub\-assemblies of various vehicles, payloads, and support equipment\. This role will receive tasking from Senior Designers and Engineers\. You will work with engineers on the creation and quality checking of engineering documentation to support production technical data packages \(concepts, layouts, drawings, 3D models, parts lists, Engineering Change Notices, \(ECN's\), vendor parts, etc\.\) in compliance with Military, ASME, and Company standards and process guides\. This role will include cataloging of vendor and supplier\-controlled hardware, models, and specifications as well as the design and drawings for new components, welded and machined structures, electro\-mechanical sub\-assemblies, and system layouts\. The applicant will be expected to quickly develop skills necessary for utilization of company tools \(NX\-2007, SolidWorks, Teamcenter, and JIRA\)\. **_Responsibilities_** Creation of mechanical solid models from conceptual sketches, specification sheets and verbal directionReceive, create, and record JIRA tickets for tracking of assignmentsCataloging of vendor and supplier\-controlled components, models, and specificationsRelease of specifications, drawings, and ECNs within the Teamcenter system \(Product Lifecycle Management Tool\)Interface with Product engineers, Manufacturing engineers and Machinists to produce accurate product representations and incorporate design for manufacturability feedbackParticipate in design review meetingsPerform tolerance calculations \(“tolerance stacks”\) of detail parts and sub\-assembliesEnsure compliance with design safety factors including tolerance and product specifications\.Development of component and subassembly drawings to ASME Y14 standards, inclusive of all planforms, sectional and isometric views, notes and GD&TGeneration of production drawings for multiple manufacturing methods; including machining, sheet metal forming and weldmentsGeneration of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams from sketches, drawings, datasheets, and verbal directionProduce engineering Bills of Materials in the Teamcenter system in concert with product definition releaseChecking of drawings per company and ASME Y14 standards **Qualifications** **_Qualifications_** Associate's degree in Drafting and Design Technology, or equivalent preferredExperience in a common solid modeling software package, with Siemen's NX, or SolidWorks \(Preferred\)Experience as a mechanical designer, with commercial or military hardware design and drafting experience preferredAbility to visualize components and assemblies in 3DKnowledge of drafting principalsFamiliarity with and ability to check drawings to ASME Y14 standardsWorking knowledge and use of ASME Y14\.5\-2009 \(Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing\) applications and fundamentalsProficiency with Microsoft Office products \-Word, Excel, OutlookHighly organized and efficientDriving tasks to completion independentlyAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing + The ability to obtain a U\.S\.
