PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The purpose of Architecture Management is to define the various technology building blocks that constitute the enterprise and their inter-relationships, along with the principles guiding their design and evolution over time. These principles inform Service Portfolio Management roadmaps to ensure the right mix of supported technology services are provided to achieve business value as defined by the business strategy. The Principal Platform Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the technology platform roadmaps that support our enterprise applications and services. They will provide technical expertise to align IT solutions with architectural standards within the overall enterprise architecture governance process, ensuring that all architecture processes are adhered to for IT, Innovation, and Business-initiated projects. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, networking, security, and best practices in platform architecture. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen interest in staying abreast of industry trends. The Principal Platform Architect will support the development of IT standards for technology solutions by participating in new technology pilots, evaluating technical advantages, market availability of products, and the risks and benefits of technology to meet business needs. They will offer technical guidance, direction, and insights to project managers and stakeholders regarding IT system solutions and improvements within the enterprise environment. The role also involves participating in the development and optimization of documentation and tools to facilitate operational transition and turnover for the support of various cloud and on-prem architectures, designs, and services being standardized and deployed. These solutions include sustainable patterns for cloud and on-premise computing and application hosting architectures in support of enterprise IT project delivery. The Principal Platform Architect must be adaptable for special projects or initiatives when required and work closely with technology vendors as necessary.
Note\: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in infrastructure and application architecture, design, and implementation, with a strong track record of leadership in technical roles. Extensive proficiency with major cloud platforms such as Azure or Oracle Cloud. Deep technical expertise in multiple areas, such as application development, enterprise applications, IT systems engineering, or large-scale data management. Strong, comprehensive knowledge of networking, including networking protocols, firewalls, load balancing, and advanced networking solutions. Advanced experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Expertise with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. Advanced understanding of security best practices and technologies, including encryption, identity and access management, compliance frameworks, and security architecture. Proven excellence in problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex and large-scale technical issues. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and mentor teams effectively. Mastery of change management principles associated with new technology implementations. Thorough understanding and practical experience with project management principles and methodologies.
