AWS is looking for a Principal Solutions Architect who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and a Data Strategist for helping customers to design solutions that leverage AWS Analytics & Artificial Intelligence (AI) services, specifically for key use cases and execute on their Data Strategy. You will interact with customers directly to understand the business problem, help and aid them in implementation of AWS Analytics & AI solutions, deliver briefings and deep dive sessions, and guide customers on adoption patterns. You will work closely with other Solution Architects from across AWS to enable large-scale use cases and drive the adoption of AWS Analytics & AI services in the segment. You will develop architecture blueprints, demos, white papers, blogs, reference implementations, and presentations to enable customers and partners to fully leverage AWS Analytics & AI services for their use cases. You will create field enablement materials for the broader technical field population, to help them understand how to integrate AWS Data and AI solutions into customers' architectures. The goal is to make CxO’s of customers successful, helping them build repeatable solutions that are practical and can keep up with tech agility, deploy them on AWS, continue to govern and monitor effectively and create large scale impact across the organization by providing trustable and clean data, while advancing their Data and AI initiatives.
The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) works backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn Amazon Web Services (AWS) ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. In this role, you will help some of our largest customers in AWS Strategic Accounts build, innovate, and deploy enterprise scale solutions, to include generative AI, open source technologies, and applications using AWS services including and not limited to Amazon OpenSearch, Amazon Glue Amazon Redshift, Amazon Sagemaker, Amazon Bedrock. You also will influence how we Go To Market (GTM) in the Strategic Accounts segment and engage with AWS product owners to influence product direction.
You will help define, create, and drive Data & AI initiatives for the customers you directly engage with. You will collaborate on large projects and work as trusted advisor and liaison between customer’s CIO, CDO, and cloud teams. You will help those customers finalize their Cloud data policy, Data governance framework and generative AI strategy. You will help them implement Analytics and generative AI software patterns like NLP pipelines and RAG, and data analytics projects (data lakehouses) with well-defined components, including: Data ownership, Data stewardship, Enterprise data catalog and discovery, Master data management practices, Lineage, and Data quality. You will author and publish content like AWS Blog posts and workshops. You will also lead timely customer feedback to service teams to improve AWS services.

Key job responsibilities
• You will be highly customer focused, and almost 80% of initiatives will originate with direct engagement with those customers and in executing on their Data Analytics & AI strategy. You will provide architectural guidance to help them make an informed decision in their architectural choices, hereby earning their trust, and in doing so seeking the next big challenge or opportunity in Data & AI to accelerate customer’s business objectives.
• Represent the voice of the customer; collaborate with field and central teams to bring customer feedback to product teams. Lead curation of custom feature and availability requests for unique customer use cases.
• Provide advanced technical knowledge to your aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
• Along with your extended team, own the technical bar for specialist technical artifacts and standards.
• Collaborate with your GTM colleagues to provide technical insights into GTM strategy and support field marketing to execute local technical events, campaigns, and customer engagements.
• Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
• Guide and Support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts aligned to your customers. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to integrate new AWS solutions into customer architectures.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
- Experience in specific technology domain areas like software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data and analytics
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
- Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
- Experience in cloud architecture and CXO level engagement
