HDR is in search of a Principal, Interiors to join our growing group and continue the legacy of providing our clients and communities with creative design solutions that improve the health and human condition of those they serve. HDR is home to world-class expertise and the Principal serves as our client’s conduit to those capabilities.

A Principal embodies the highest standards of design excellence and innovation, and an entrepreneurial approach to Interiors and Architecture as an integrated component of the firm’s total design strategy. Responsibilities include collaborating across disciplines, market sectors, local and regional offices in the delivery of projects, while promoting design excellence, developing professional networks, pursuing new business opportunities, growing your craft, mentoring and development of talent, and providing direction to project teams and individuals. As leaders, Principals continually demonstrate specializations including Design, Technical, and Management.

Principals at HDR will participate in the following:

Partner with Office Leadership to support operational plans and processes to meet project excellence goals.Participate in strategic marketing pursuits, client interviews and presentations to Win New Projects / clients.Advocate for improving / maintaining project excellence.Role Model and Mentor to challenge, inspire and develop others to join in the constant pursuit of Design Excellence.Schedule/Sponsor Formal/Informal Design Reviews.Establish and support Office Environments to promote Design Excellence and HDR’s “Brand.”Promote HDR to potential candidates; assist in interview process for new hires as appropriate.Lead/Champion Design, Technical and Management objectives with a commitment to the successful completion of multiple projects that support HDR’s Design Philosophy.Technical Knowledge related to creation and completion of documents and details through all phases of a project.Deliver Sustainable approaches and practices to promote healthy environments and the positive well-being of occupants.Collaborate and Co-create ideas and concepts within a team and across disciplines in the successful delivery of projects at all scales and complexity. Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or closely related fieldActive NCIDQ Certificate Holder or Registered Architect License/Registration in home stateMust be able to lead a team on projects and make client presentationsExtensive knowledge and experience within the local and regional marketStrong team leadership, mentoring, motivational/organizational and people skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsActive member in local associations (ASID, IIDA, AIA) LEED APWELL APExperience with Microsoft Office products,Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, Rhino, Enscape and BluebeamAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustRequired QualificationsA minimum of 15 years of experience in relevant design firm environment NCIDQ certificate holderID license in state where applicable

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Pay range: $122,675 - $175,250
