This opportunity gives researchers exposure to a range of leadership-level strategic and management topics. The Principal will be responsible for investigating, analyzing, and writing on critical issues facing senior executives in leading global corporations. The role enables you to explore your intellectual curiosity in a collaborative, team-based environment. You’ll be offered robust training, support and coaching to achieve career success and advance within the research organization.
This role works within the Software Engineering practice, which provides research and insights for software engineering leaders at major enterprises.
What you will do
Develop a deep understanding of how software engineering leaders think and behave to create research deliverables that will be of great practical use to them.Learn and execute Gartner's proven methodology for conducting world-class research that helps identify best practice solutions to many of today's biggest business challenges.Be a key member of the research team and contribute to the entire project lifecycle, from conception to completion.Conduct research by speaking with senior executives and industry experts and conducting wide-ranging secondary literature searches.Develop insights that are practical and actionable to support clients’ key priorities.Independently create key research deliverables, including but not limited to: white papers, how-to guides, case studies, presentations and webinars, and videos.Closely collaborate with peers and senior stakeholders in several countries as a part of a global research team.What you will need
A bachelor’s degree required, and a Master’s/PhD in a social science preferred.5+ years of experience conducting primary and secondary research utilizing qualitative and quantitative data.Strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity to process and understand information quickly, as well as diagnose issues to make actionable recommendations.Experience converting qualitative and quantitative information into clear frameworks, narratives, and visually compelling presentations.What you will have
Critical thinker and problem solver demonstrating the ability to assess business problems and provide actionable, outcome-based insights.A great writer with experience writing business related deliverables such as white papers, articles, etc.Excellent communicator who can communicate complex ideas to clients and internal stakeholders. Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 76,000 USD - 106,260 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
