Becoming the best airline is an adventure. And our Pricing Revenue Management team is providing fuel for that journey by ensuring that we maximize our ticket revenue on every single flight across our network – both domestically and internationally – while giving our customers various product offerings for their travel. By analyzing market trends and forecasting consumer demand, this team works hard to ensure we are selling the right number of tickets at the right price to optimize our revenue and run a profitable airline.

Key Responsibilities:

The Principal is responsible for ensuring that United’s products are distributed accurately and used appropriately in current and future distribution systems worldwide, including monitoring and remedying issues as well as creating and testing business requirements for system enhancements, system changes, and display updates/fixes in United’s distribution systems, including both legacy channels and New Distribution Capability The Principal will take ownership of IATA standards for the Distribution Team, including AIRIMP, PSCM, etc. as well as potentially attend IATA working group meetings. The Principal is responsible for leading vendor relationships to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality data transmissions and will work closely with counterparts in IT, Contact Centers, Merchandising, and Sales as well as other departments as required.

Serve as the subject matter authority for all technical and functional issues in United’s current and future distribution systems, including traditional EDIFACT and New Distribution CapabilityRepresent United Airlines on IATA working committees (requiring travel to IATA offices) to modify current and establish new industry messaging standards and provide guidance on compliance of current standards and implementation of new standardsFind opportunities to reduce technology costs and optimize current processes, while also working closely with key collaborators to build business requirements and process plans for the acquisition of emergent airline distribution technologiesRepresent Distribution on working groups for organizational-wide initiatives, acting as an advocate for Distribution partners, providing feedback to project leaders, and performing user acceptance testing of product fixes and improvementsMaintain quality and consultative vendor relationships to ensure timely and accurate data transmissions are received to and from distribution systems
