The Devereux CAREs (Center for Autism Research and Education Services) School in Fitchburg, MA is a small private special education school that supports students ages 8- 22 with Autism Spectrum Disorders, developmental disabilities, dual diagnoses, and social skills deficits. Our primary goal is to teach functional and pro-social skills that can be easily generalized to the student’s community and home. There is a strong emphasis on functional communication and skill acquisition using Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support. At The CARES School, students learn academic, social, daily living skills, independent living skills, community and vocational skill development.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Under the supervision of the Education Director assures the successful implementation of MA Curriculum Frameworks and instructional strategies for a diverse student population.
+ Serves as Individual Education Plan (IEP) coordinator and ensures DESE regulation compliance.
+ Develops and refines a broad continuum of educational and vocational programs.
+ Provides supervision, support and direction to teachers and aides to assure provision of effective differentiated instruction, curriculum-based assessments and data collection to monitor student progress.
+ Implements school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support programs.
+ Provides training and support to teachers related to their effective supervision of instructional support staff.

**Qualifications**
**Requirements:**
+ Must be 21 years of age or older
+ Valid Drivers License
+ Master’s Degree in Education or related field. Licensed by the Department of Education as Principal or Administrator of Special Education.
+ Minimum of three years of experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting.
**Schedule:**
**Must be able to attend a 2 week paid orientation in Rutland, which runs Monday-Friday, 8AM to 4PM**
Schedules available proceeding orientation:
Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
