Job Description
Responsible for the engineering design, analysis, and documentation of aerodynamic structures and mechanical systems & sub-assemblies. This role involves providing manufacturing support to fabricators and the installation/operations team, communicating technical status and issues to internal management, and briefing customers as necessary. The engineer will mentor less experienced engineers and promote, manage, engineer, and document the development of new products. Designs will target highly constrained size, weight, and power environments.
ResponsibilitiesProvide manufacturing support to fabricators and the installation/operations team.Communicate technical status and issues to internal management and brief customers as necessary.Mentor less experienced engineers.Promote, manage, engineer, and document the development of new products.Develop designs targeting highly constrained size, weight, and power environments.Utilize Finite Element Analysis techniques and interpret/develop requirements and analytical models.Apply knowledge of empirical aircraft stress analysis techniques.Collaborate with various teams and provide leadership in engineering projects.Design, integrate, and sustain core products and new developments.Essential SkillsABET accredited BS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.12+ years of relevant experience.Experience in finite element analysis (FEA).Knowledge of related application software such as FEMAP/NASTRAN.Must be eligible to work in the United States and maintain a security clearance.Experience within the aircraft industry (DOD and/or Commercial).Knowledge in airworthiness, aerospace engineering, systems integration, and satellite communication.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with both commercial and military aircraft, including specific models like the C130, B52, B1 bomber, and KC135.Strong report writing skills and experience with military and FAA airworthiness requirements.Long-term commitment and stability in career are preferred.Work Environment
The engineer will work in an office environment with two mechanical engineers and one mechanical designer. The typical schedule is 8-5, though overtime and late hours may be required to meet business demands and deadlines. The company has 15 current employees, facilitating frequent interaction across all engineering disciplines. The role reports directly to the Engineering Manager. The dress code is casual, and the company culture is described as a work family, emphasizing communication and teamwork
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
