What you will be doing
The Principal AI Engineer will be a key technical leader responsible for designing and implementing the platform & architecture that underpins our AI and ML modeling capabilities and integration with applications and data pipelines. This person will build & scale multiple models to retail platforms. This role demands a visionary thinker with deep technical expertise and a strategic mindset, who can drive the evolution of our data science infrastructure and methodologies.
The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA
Main responsibilities
Define and implement the technical roadmap for AI, including the selection and implementation of appropriate tools and frameworks. Define and implement AI experimentation and observation platform for continuously improvement of AI models and experiences Build and maintain a high-performing AI team, providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers. Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to build and maintain robust data pipelines Lead the design for robust AI infrastructure / AIOps, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Lead the design, development, and deployment of innovative AI solutions across various business domains. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize AI opportunities. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI research and translate them into practical applications for the company. Advocate for the ethical and responsible use of AI throughout the organization. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both technical and non-technical.
The salary range is $ 182,400 to $247,800 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
What we are searching for
Experience in bringing large scale AI systems to production. PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics or related fields 10+ years of experience in AI/Data Science and Machine Learning Strong academic credentials with publications in top-tier journals and conferences Background in one or more of the following areas: deep learning, information retrieval, knowledge graph, natural language processing, optimization Experience in building large scale AI models and systems Experience in large language models and deep neural network solutions Demonstrated ability to work with peers in engineering across teams to set technical directions Excellent communication and presentation skills
