The Data and Analytics organization is seeking a Sr Manager, Data and Analytics, to own and drive key activities in support of the development of Financial and Commercial reporting datasets. This position will function as the primary Enterprise Analytics subject matter expert for a business segment, in addition to leading a team of analysts. Ideally we’re looking for an FP&A professional interested in taking on a new challenge; applying expert-level analytical skills and experience in how financial and commercial decisions are made to define the lens used by the entire function at Smurfit Westrock.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Own the maturation of enterprise customer and product profitability reporting that ties to the financials for key business segments. Support the development of new data domains oriented around finance and commercial activities (future looking profitability, AR/AP, pipeline reporting, etc.)Act as a thought-partner for business partners in design process, prioritization and acceleration of delivery of information, while collaborating with IT partners to optimize the technical solution to meet business needsSupport a group of professionals who have a strong understanding of Smurfit Westrock’s business and technologies and a diverse background in reporting, analytics, master data management, accounting, and finance. Provide support and guidance, in addition to prioritizing work tasks to stay on track with project plans.Partner with the Data Refinery Organization and business data stewards to design solutions to support consistent reporting, and participate as needed in Smurfit Westrock’s North Star transformation to ensure long term master data continuity in reporting Support strategic development of road-mapping technology / reporting capabilities as business capabilities evolve
What you need to succeed:
Ideal Background
Strong background in managerial reporting – Finance/FP&A or similar analytical role; able to understand the needs of finance leadership, apply variance analysis skills for validation of modelsFluent in manufacturing company financials – understanding of standard costs criticalFluent in master data fundamentals around hierarchies/taxonomiesExperience transforming large volumes of data using analytical toolsExperience extracting transactional data from a variety of source systems – able to profile, validate, and harmonize
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Math, or related quantitative field.At least 10 years of experience in a related field – Finance, Analytics, ReportingStrong data mining backgroundAnalytical and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, execute, and deliver projects on timeMust be comfortable with fast moving and constantly evolving high growth environment – data maturation efforts are underway side-by-side with a major ERP implementationCommitted team player who is proactive, takes ownership over the success of their projects, and works hard to support those around themDemonstrated ability in innovation to create business value and influence business strategy
