We are looking for a Principal Analyst specialising in food and drink insights to join the global MFD team. This role focuses on providing thought-leading insights and analysis across multiple markets and categories. Our Global Analysts are tasked with challenging our clients’ ideas and thinking by providing fresh insight and analysis with impact building upon our proprietary data and analysis.
This role will report to the Director of MFD + PI South APAC and as a single contributor role with no direct reports. And this role is based out of our Mintel Mumbai Office.
Due to this being a global role it will a requirement to regularly connect with the global team and present to clients based in EMEA and US markets which may be outside traditional office hours.
What You Will Be Doing:
Creation of regular insight content on trends and opportunities within the food & drink landscape, for publishing on Mintel’s subscription platform [~50% of your time]
Write bold and forward looking analysis, identifying trends and opportunities for our clients Content should tackle current and future topics of interest for our food and drink clients (identified through client engagement and through liaison with Commercial team members) and utilise Mintel's consumer data across Reports and Global Consumer, tracking of innovation activity and other data inputs.Delivering insight to and engaging with our global food and drink clients [~40% of your time]
Present the above content to clients as and when required and maintain dialogue with key clients to understand their future insight needs. Respond to client briefs, developing and delivering insights tailored to client needs, and pulling in global category expertise as required.PR/marketing & NB support (~10% of total time)
Identify and present at external events as required, to increase visibility and branding for Mintel. Develop presentations to deliver at Mintel’s own events Contribute to content for publications, blog posts and lead generation activity (as directed by the PR team). Support upgrade discussions and new business pitches – presenting selected content and helping to demonstrate Mintel’s expertise in the market.
What we are looking for:
6+ years experience in the research and insights field Strong knowledge and experience in the food and drink industry Experience working within confectionery, bakery and snacking categories is an advantage as well as FMCG brand experience Must have excellent fluent verbal and written communication skills A critical thinker who is able to analyse data and other inputs and find new insights Ability to write concise, insightful and impactful content to deadline Able to confidently deliver high quality and engaging presentations to sometimes tight deadlines and to demanding, and often large, audiences from a range of cultural backgrounds Strong interpersonal skills and a strong team player Self-starter capable of effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment and who can maintain an efficient work schedule with minimal supervision Commercially-minded, being able to understand and support Mintel’s own commercial objectives and that of clients Must have a positive attitude and be energetic
