Overview TRC has an opening for a Cultural Resources Principal Investigator reporting to and/or based in our Austin, TX and Albuquerque, NM offices. The position will work with other environmental and cultural resources staff to build TRC's cultural resource program in Southern Plains and greater Southwest regions. The successful candidate will assist in managing agency and client relationships, marketing, and proposal development; assist and advise other cultural resources staff; and direct and manage large and complex cultural resources projects. Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil & gas, transportation, mining, and manufacturing industries. This position will require periodic travel. When not supporting field (or other) client needs, remote or hybrid work status is possible. Responsibilities Job Responsibilities: Overall project management of all types of archaeological field and archival projects, ranging from small local surveys to large, multi-year and multi-state projects. Coordinating with the Austin and Albuquerque team of archaeologists, environmental staff, permitting specialists, and managers in TRC's Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice. Developing and implementing of budgets, research designs, work plans, schedules, analyses and reporting. Providing business development support with existing clients Participating in marketing and proposal development Mentoring staff Conducting agency/regulatory coordination Supporting Native American Tribal coordination and outreach. Must be available for periodic travel away from the duty station. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Graduate degree (M.A. or Ph.D.) in anthropology, archaeology, history, architectural history, historic preservation, architecture, or closely related field; 10 or more years' experience of progressive experience in the archaeology and/or architectural history of Texas (or New Mexico) and the surrounding region; Knowledge of state and federal regulations, environmental review processes, and compliance requirements; Meet the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualifications for Archaeology, History, Architectural History, or Historic Architecture (RPA certification preferred for archaeologists); Experience and ability to serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) for projects and able to obtain permits from the Texas Historical Commission and/or the state of New Mexico and New Mexico federal lands jurisdictions; Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, peer-reviewing, public speaking; Ability to work closely with engineers and other technical specialists as part of a larger project team; Familiarity with digital field technology; A track record of meeting client and internal company deadlines; A commitment to safety; A valid driver's license with a clean driving record; and Successful completion of a background check and drug screen. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in following states is preferable: Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arizona; Able to obtain PI certification in multiple states, is a plus. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
