The Opportunity

Based in Newcastle, our Building Engineering group is undergoing significant growth and development as it continues to win major work in the industrial and property sectors. This is an opportunity for a talented and passionate Chartered electrical engineer to join our Newcastle team, promoting the current growth and opportunity in the property and industrial sectors.

Our team is looking to strengthen its project level leadership through the recruitment of an electrical engineering lead who can provide a combination of technical, project management. They will hold specific multi-disciplinary technical management tasks within the Property and Industry business areas.

As a Design lead within our building engineering group you will undertake a key role in delivering our clients’ needs. You will work with the Arup project management to oversee the technical engineering and project delivery. Your Electrical Engineering background will come in to its own when helping to guide the technical direction of our projects, and when helping members of the Electrical team achieve their full potential.

Is this role right for you?

We’re looking for candidates who are capable of translating Client specifications into an appropriate and clear project delivery approach, making sound decisions and communicating effectively at all levels. Overall, you will be accountable for technical delivery of multidisciplinary projects from initial planning through detailed design and site implementation,  successfully delivering a complex workload

We’re looking for candidates who:

Have exposure to the Whole Building Services Design Life Cycle from Concept through to Detailed Design with exposure to a wide range of sectors including Mixed Use, Retail, Commercial, Residential, Tall building, Data Centres Can manage finances and staffing resource to ensure successful delivery of projects within established budgets Can provide technical multidisciplinary management and representing the design and/or discipline team in discussions with the client and contractors Ensure appropriate design checks and quality assurance procedures are undertaken as well as bringing innovation and best practice to projects. Sharing knowledge, providing guidance, training and feedback. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team. Are a Chartered Engineer Hold an Electrical Engineering Qualification
