The ideal candidate will have backend, Java, GCP, Apache Beam, and SQL experience, which will align successfully in the organization. **Job Title: Big Data Engineer** **Location: Onsite/Santa Clara, CA** **Pay Range: $80-$85/hr W2** **Position Overview:** As a Principal Big Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data ingestion and processing platforms, leveraging your expertise in architecture, design, and development to drive innovation and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including research, development, and data science, to identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and build scalable, high-performance data processing and storage systems. **Key Responsibilities:** + Architect, design, and develop scalable big data solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the organization. + Collaborate with R&D teams and data scientists to optimize data pipelines, identify inefficiencies, and implement resolutions. + Design and implement diverse architectural models for high-performance data processing and storage, ensuring reliability and scalability. + Build robust data ingestion tools to seamlessly integrate data from multiple heterogeneous sources. + Stay up to date with the latest big data frameworks and technologies to continuously improve platform performance and adaptability. **Required Skills & Qualifications:** + 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing big data solutions handling hundreds of terabytes of data. + Proficiency in large-scale data processing tools such as Dataflow, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), BigQuery (BQ), Apache Beam, or similar. + Experience in backend, Java. + 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java in a production environment. + Strong problem-solving mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality, executable solutions. + Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions. **Education & Experience:** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience. + A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of experience will also be considered.
