Braun Intertec’s Concrete Science group is seeking a Principal Chemist interested in supporting clients’ needs on new and historic materials. This position will be located in Bloomington MN or Chicago IL.
Responsibilities:
Strong understand of Concrete and Cementitious Chemistry.Experience with wet chemistry techniques, XRF, XRD, TGA, FTIR. Mentor Professionals on chemical analysisMaintain quality standards in laboratory analysis.Consult with clients to solve problems with historic and new concrete materials.Prepare proposals for testing and consulting projectsProject related responsibilities consist primarily of developing project scopes, coordinate laboratory work, establish timelines, analyze and understand data, write reports, and manage projects from the proposal stage to closing the project.Act as the primary author or reviewer of deliverables for projects or researchCoordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project successEnsure adherence to quality standards and safety regulationsTravel up to 25% of timeRequired Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to Braun’s company standardsAbility to conduct laboratory work.Ability to monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues for consulting and testing projects.Possess technical aptitude to solve technical issues where solutions are undefined in typical practiceAble to interact with clients to help maintain project schedules and deliverables.Ability to work within a strong team environmentSelf-motivated to learn new skillsAbility to lift at least 30 lbs.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry15 to 20 years of experience with laboratory chemistry techniques.Basic understanding of concrete properties and testing methods.Proficient in excel and wordMust have a valid driver’s license.Braun Intertec is a drug-free workplace and require all new hires to complete a pre-employment drug screen test, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report.
