Job Purpose and Impact

The Principal Cloud Security Engineer joining Cargill’s security organization will play a crucial role in supporting accelerated cloud adoption by designing and implementing robust security strategies and frameworks tailored for cloud environments. This position is essential for ensuring that our cloud-based systems and data are secure, compliant, and resilient against threats, thereby safeguarding Cargill's digital infrastructure. 

Key Accountabilities Develop security standards and practices to protect Cargill’s data and assets in the cloud. Collaborate with Cargill’s enterprise cloud architects and engineers to build modernized, multi-hybrid automated cloud security controls that safeguard digital data and infrastructure. Create reusable secure design patterns for common cloud use cases to facilitate secure cloud adoption. Address evolving threats to Cargill’s cloud platforms in cloud security strategies and platform designs. Develop secure network designs specific to cloud environments. Optimize investments in cloud security technology to ensure they are fit-for-purpose and cost-effective. Mentor security engineers, provide technical direction, and assist with product roadmap prioritization. Stay informed about emerging technology trends that impact the company’s security and risk posture. Define and document how the implementation of new systems or interfaces between cloud systems affects the security posture of the current environment.Qualifications Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experienceMinimum of six years of related work experiencePreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.6+ years of experience leading cloud architecture. Minimum of 10 years of information technology and business or industry work experienceIn-depth knowledge of cloud security services, tools, and best practices for AWS, Azure, and other major cloud providers. Experience in designing well-architected cloud security solutions in a large enterprise. Familiarity with cloud automation, management, and deployment capabilities. Knowledge of container architectures, CNAPP, CSPM, CASB, CIEM, CWPP, and CI/CD security in the cloud. Demonstrates flexibility in changing situations, adapting ideas or perceptions in response to evolving circumstances, and altering standard procedures when necessary. Ability to multitask effectively.
