Principal Communications Manager
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced communicator to join the communications team for Intuit’s Global Business Solutions Group (QuickBooks and Mailchimp), reporting to the Director of Communications for QuickBooks. We are looking for a creative and experienced communications leader who has a proven track record creating and executing multi-channel external communications in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate has strong media relations skills and contacts in the fintech, business and consumer sectors; can develop impactful narratives and communications strategies; and loves crafting a good story. The role requires advanced writing and editing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once while working collaboratively or independently under tight deadlines. What you'll bring + Significant experience (10+ years) in communications, ideally focused on developing and executing earned media programs that deliver results + Exceptional journalistic writing and storytelling skills with the ability to craft engaging narratives tailored to different channels and audiences + Understand and have a passion for small businesses and product/brand storytelling + Strong business acumen - ability to translate strategic information and data into clear and concise communications for stakeholders that deliver results + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence across a matrixed organization and drive collaboration through building positive internal and external relationships + Proactive self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt easily to change. Be energetic, organized, and detail-oriented as well as flexible, resilient, and comfortable with ambiguity + Ability to operate at both a strategic level and in a detailed, execution mode to manage projects from end to end + Experience working with and managing PR agencies, contractors, and other vendors + Hybrid Role: 3 days in office/week How you will lead + Execute results-oriented earned media and public relations programs that create awareness for the QuickBooks brand and products in an array of news media, not limited to fintech, business, consumer, and tech press + Lead and contribute to story development, pitching press, and driving tactics (thought leadership, blogs, events, etc.) that support the QuickBooks narrative + Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Communications, Marketing and Product to execute successful GTM campaigns + Work with internal stakeholders to find and develop news stories + Maintain and build strong media relationships (fintech, business, consumer preferred) + Be a positive presence for the communications team and stakeholders, working collaboratively and globally with cross-functional partners and teams EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability.
